Money raised from Expo sponsors and walkers supports the Parkinson’s Outreach Association (POA) with our mission to promote awareness for Parkinson’s disease and provide local support, information, education and advocacy for people in our community affected by the disease, including caregivers, family and friends.
Support your favorite Wellness Expo Team!
Our teams are competing to raise funds during March and April for our Parkinson’s Wellness Expo! Show your support by donating and helping the teams compete in four categories: Most Money Raised, Most Individual Donations, Most Participants, and Best Team T-Shirt design (for those teams who choose to have a team t-shirt)! (NOTE: The amount of funds raised does not update automatically! Your donation will be calculated and posted the next working day.)
Your donations count!
I’m speechless! More donations have been coming in, and your generosity has been absolutely astounding! Last week, I asked if we could reach $5,000…and, yes, we DID! Next, I asked if we could reach $6,000…and yes, we DID! With just a day to go before the Expo, I asked…can we reach $7,000? And yes, we DID!
Thanks to all the contributions on Saturday at the Expo and during the past few days online, the rankings have changed yet again! The new leader is Team Alice Bonn! Alice and 34 of her family and friends have raised an amazing $1,565, but despite this, they only have a slim lead of $105 ahead of Team Parkie and the Gang, who have now raised $1,460. Team Keep Moving with the Parkies is holding tightly to third place and is over the one thousand dollar mark with $1,040!
Team Cassels has made another great leap ahead over the weekend, but still retains 4th place with $865. Team Wilder Than Most kept its ranking of 5th place, but is trailing by less than $100.
Thanks to the steady encouragement of Team Captain, Steve Sandler, the Team Choir members continued to bring in donations, but the team remains in 6th place, still $60 behind Team Wilder Than Most, but holding steady with $710!
Steve Sandler’s other team, Team Ageless Grace has held on to 7th place with $285. Thanks to donations made Saturday at the Expo, Team Movers and Shakers has moved into 8th place, now with $200, while 9th place Team GFWC Capital City Woman’s Club is only $65 behind with $135! Team Pedler continues to hold 10th place with $100.
Team Alice Bonn has maintained the lead in the number of individual donations made, at 35 total, clearly demonstrating the power of individual giving! Everyone’s contributions count, and make a huge impact on the Tallahassee community living with Parkinson’s disease. During this Parkinson’s Disease Awareness Month, all of you have raised a total of $7,120.00!! We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your caring and your generosity!
…dare I ask…can we reach $8,000?!?
